When I started high school, I was 189 pounds and I was surrounded by girls who thought fat was 110. After several crash diets and contemplating giving up on eating for days at a time, I finally reached 170. After 2 years.
My goal as a freshman was to be a sexy senior, I wanted to graduate as a 120 and very happy person with the world ahead of her. I’m in my junior year and I graduate June of 2014. So far, I was giving up hope on ever making my goal, if it took me 2 years to lose 10 pounds, imagine trying to lose 50. But after reading your blog I realized, I was loosing weight for the wrong reason. Yes I want to be sexy as rain and have all eyes on me (and not my love handles) but I was also craving something that I didn’t even admit to myself, true happiness.
One day, I want to be able to have a healthy mind, body and soul. I want to be able to go shopping and not leave the mall in tears because the only parachutes my size were ugly. I want to enjoy life, and not let any physical limitations stop me (hiking sounds cute right now…). If I don’t make my goal, I’ll still be at peace because right now, I’ve realized, I have to be happy with myself. And i need to loose weight for me and not to please anybody else.
